The packaging of this kit is biodegradable, even the clear window is made from cornstarch.
Instructions:
CALENDULA
- Direct sow, early Spring, or Autumn. Cover the peat pellet with hot water and wait for it to rise and expand, then place it into the peat pot.
- Sow a few seeds approx 3 times the depth of the seed, cover and gently firm down in the peat pellet. Keep soil moist but not wet during germination period (5-12 days)
- Once the seedlings are approx 5-10cm tall, plant the peat pot directly into the soil. Calendula grows well in full sun as well as partial shade.
- Once the plant has it’s orange flowers you can use these in your apothecary cooking, salads, add to cocktails or simply leave them for the bees.
CHAMOMILE
- Sow seeds early Spring to Summer. Cover the peat pellet with hot water and wait for it to rise and expand, then place it into peat pot.
- Sow seed at a depth approximately three times the diameter of the seed. Sprinkle a few seeds in the peat pellet, cover and gently firm down.
- Once the seedlings are approx 5-10cm high, you can start to put them outside during the day to harden them up and bring them back inside at night.
- Then plant the seedlings in the peat pot directly into the soil. Chamomile can also be grown in a pot.
- Once the plants have small white flowers you can harvest these and make your own herbal tea.
ECHINACEA
- Sow in Spring, Summer or Autumn. Cover the peat pellet with hot water and wait for it to rise and expand, then place it into peat pot.
- Sow seed at a depth approximately three times the diameter of the seed. Sprinkle a few seeds in the peat pellet, cover and gently firm down.
- Once the plants are approx 5cm tall you can plant the peat pots directly into the soil in it’s final position or it can be grown in a pot.
